Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Monitor incineration plant performance
   • Monitor test results and combustion processes.
   • Identify and report process faults and the operational condition of plant.
   • Select and check equipment.
   • Fit and use personal protective equipment.
2. Operate and control processes
   • Carry out routine plant inspections.
   • Conduct and analyse process tests and compare performance to operational requirements.
   • Make system adjustments to improve system performance.
   • Collect, interpret and record process data and report.
3. Compile process records
   • Compile reports from plant and system data.
   • Report observations outside defined parameters for further action.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

solving operational problems

completing reports and logs

identifying control system faults

sampling and testing products

conducting routine plant inspections

performing routine calculations when sampling and conducting basic tests

preparing and applying incineration processes

making basic system adjustments

completing required documentation

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.
